WP5 Photonics Applications

This WP aims to realize demonstrators in different application fields (Datacom & Hyperscalers, AI accelerators, Sensing, Telecom) leveraging on Silicon Photonics.

The objectives of WP5 are:
  • O5.1: Creating system-level demonstrators that offer real-world applications of 300 mm Silicon Photonics technology (PIC100), demonstrating enhanced performance compared to current state of the art
  • O5.2: Developing system-level demonstrators of 300 mm silicon photonics ensuring these solutions promote sustainability through lower energy usage and/or reduced material waste
  • O5.3: Creating system-level demonstrators to investigate the potential for the next wave of technological advancements in silicon photonics (PIC200, MTP), achieving further enhancements in performance.
  • O5.4: Demonstrating the versatility of STARLight technologies for use in various application areas, including Datacom and data centers, artificial intelligence accelerators, sensing, and telecommunications.
  • O5.5: Fostering collaboration between academia, research institutions, and industry partners to accelerate the industrial deployment of technologies developed within STARLight.
